Monitoring Temperature with Covid-19

Why Does it Matter?

COVID-19 is spreading rapidly worldwide. And though many people don't have any symptoms at all, those that do may have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, and diarrhea. Monitoring your temperature will be important to detect potential symptoms quickly.

What’s the Normal Body Temperature? What is Fever?

The average normal body temperature is 98.6°F (37°C), though age, activity, and time of day can also affect your body temperature. In general, a body temperature over 100.4°F (38°C) is considered fever.

If you believe that you have been exposed to COVID-19, CDC advises you to check your temperature twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, for 14 days.

Before you check your temperature, make sure you wait 30 minutes after eating, drinking, or exercising. Also keep in mind that some medications, as is their purpose, can temporarily reduce your temperature, like Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, and Aspirin. As a result, you need to wait at least 6 hours after taking these medicines to check your temperature.

Prevent Disease Spread, go Touchless!

COVID-19 spreads from person to person. It also spreads from contact with contaminated surfaces or objects. In other words, if a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touches their own mouth, nose, or eyes, they could get the virus. To lessen the chances of transmitting the virus and increase sanitation, you should get a no-touch thermometer.

And while there are plenty on the market, most are sold out quickly after the Covid-19 outbreak. Rest assured, we have some thermometers in stock in our California warehouse.

Using the iHealth No-Touch Thermometer

iHealth offers a perfectly hygienic and super accurate infrared no-touch forehead thermometer. To use the thermometer, simply aim the thermometer probe at the center of the forehead and press the button.

  • Keep the probe 1.18 in (3 cm) away from the forehead (about the width of an adult’s index finger).
  • Do not touch the forehead with the probe. Then, gently press the measurement button.
  • The device will vibrate once a reading is obtained and the temperature will display on the screen.
  • The device automatically powers off when you let it sit idle for 8 seconds.

Please, if you use traditional thermometers, take this time to upgrade to a safer, more hygienic solution. Purchase the thermometer before they run out. They can be shipped anywhere in the US in just a couple days.

To purchase the thermometer, click here or have a family member scan the QR code on the right with their phone camera to purchase.
